Overuse of River water - 8 rivers dry up (Courtesy - National Geographic)

Man has always treated Earth as a step-mother and used her resources with utmost carelessness and mismanagement. Now is the time when we are on the verge of facing the consequences of what we started in the 19th century with the Industrialization - The dark age for nature.

As we grow to become 7 billion our resource utilization is also increasing day by day and this has led to drying up of 8 major rivers which are considered as the lifeline of the areas they flow through. The Colorado river, Indus river, Amu Darya river, Syr Darya river, Rio Grande river, Yellow river, Teesta river and Murray river are the ones which are facing the consequences of mismanaged use of water and some of them have depleted to mere streams leaving just a trail of the might of water they used to carry once.
